by jonathan on Saturday, October 11th 2008 at 11:16 PM

The new MS Paint looks so weird. I suppose it's gone up in rank as it seems to have some more features.

Windows is the best operating system...Macs can't run alot of stuff but are for the most part unhackable so they are considered "safe". In my opinion they are for just work, windows is for the works.

This paint is looking good and much better...it will help alot of people who don't want to pitch more money into additional software.Plus if they get around to adding 3d support, MS paint might be worthy to use over PS again!

Windows 7 painter is only a basic tool and it always will be.
Painter is not designed for professional stuff and it never will be.

Painter is designed to be small and easy to use, so we don't need additional programs for real basic drawing stuff.

If you need a realy good tool for drawings that go and download it or buy it.

by TheSwede on Wednesday, February 25th 2009 at 08:10 AM

... or download Paint.NET instead.

Is This Up For Download By Any Chance?

In the real world, Windows will still be Number #1.

I like how Paint has been refreshed. It needed it!

This does look like a decent upgrade, and i don't even use windows much anymore - mac user.

Its annoying how mac fanboys come here and go all OMG MAC OS X IS THE BEST, when OS X doesn't even have its own Paint-like app.

that being said, imo OS X IS better, but windows is still aight.

hey can someone tell me about the difference between the paint program we had before and now in W7. Lets talk about its additional features and their disadvantages or advantages

by Peeky Chew on Sunday, October 11th 2009 at 06:58 AM

Well I know that now it supports transparency, so that will certainly help a lot, since you won't have to print screen something transparent anymore.

And could people stop saying ms paint is rubbish? It's really good for pixel art and just because you don't use it for that doesn't mean it is rubbish.

by Mayank on Tuesday, October 13th 2009 at 06:23 AM

u all are idiot it is a good one

by Gerry on Thursday, October 22nd 2009 at 09:04 PM

For certain basic graphics jobs Paint is fine. I do quite a bit of work with old music scores. I find Paint does a good job of cleaning these up, copying and pasting clean bits over dirty bits and so on. Really quick and easy to use. BUT I sometimes have to pop into PhotoShop to make the ledger lines horizontal.

by bilal on Monday, November 2nd 2009 at 03:05 PM

is there any way to get this paint on vista

by William on Tuesday, November 10th 2009 at 11:52 PM

I like the new Paint, with it's newer features, but it would be even nicer, if it also had the older brushes for pixel related stuff.

Win7 Paint does not suck, while pretty basic, it has it's purpose.
If you need to do very detail stuff, in that case, you'll need to use something else.

how to i f##king download it

by David on Sunday, February 27th 2011 at 01:09 PM

So I try to use the stensil for the rounded edge images and it's not the same size on the bottom as with the top edge. In older MS paint versions they would have matched exactly. Also there is no "undo" button which sucks. Trying to fill anything is impossible. You used to be able to do more measured detailed stuff in older versions of ms paint but not now.

by Mark on Monday, March 7th 2011 at 01:58 PM

Hi All
Does anyone know whether it is possible to get the MS paint from Vista (and earlier) working with Windows 7?
The reason is that the new version doesn't allow mono-chrome bit maps to be edited on a bit basis but the old version works well.
It would be nice to use the older capabilities on Windows 7 - at the moment I have to do this type of work on an old PC and transfer the results to the new PC, which is a pain.
Regards
Mark

P.S. Although off subject, the same goes for the old calc.exe program. The new one has several modes (scientific and programmer are the ones that I use) but is is not possible to move values between the two (without typing them in again) which makes life very difficult - as programmer one needs to convert between float and hex (for example) which the original calc.exe did fine...
