Raw sketches for Windows 7's desktop

These are not my ideas, but the work of Jamie, a member of Channel9, Microsoft's community website.
These are raw, just meant to show some interesting concepts in how the Windows Vienna desktop can be structured:

Switching between windows would go in a circle:

Opening a picture:
Image

Hovering a picture:
Image

In place of the start menu:
Image

I like all these, especially the picture showing without any frames, just with a shadow and all the controls popping up when you put your mouse over it.
Remember, these are just raw sketches.

Interesting concept. Looks kind of like FrontRow in Mac OS X.

Imagine the icons moving towards you. I'm not sure how practical it would be when you're in a hurry,though. Probably if you could have them move faster backward or forward using the mouse wheel...

Its very good but the flip 2.0 looks hard to navagate. 8-)

Is vienna in a different programming language than vista? That might be why it is only taking 3 years

windows 7 is still NT based system so i dont think it has new "language"

then why is it windows 7 all nt based system are named by numbers right

Your right. Windows 7 will be version 7.0 of the Windows NT Kernal.

Actually from M3 Further it wont be based on NT.. Even though if it has a build number of 7000... Remember im following all this... I have all the Win7 Builds up to M1 R3
